Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and how we use it.

Effective date: March 24, 2026

1. Who we are

Linkr is a link management service operated by an individual. This policy covers how we handle your data across linkr.sh, app.linkr.sh, and linksh.re.

2. What we collect

  • Account information — When you sign up, we collect your email address and name. If you use Google or Twitter (X) to sign in, we also receive your profile picture from those services.
  • Content — Links, uploaded files, images, and code snippets you create are stored on our servers.
  • Link analytics — When someone clicks one of your links, we log the IP address (to estimate country and city), device type, browser, referring URL, and timestamp. This data is tied to your link, not to the visitor's identity. We don't build visitor profiles.
  • Session data — We use cookies to keep you logged in, managed by Better Auth.
  • Payment data — Payments go through Polar.sh. We never see or store your card or billing details.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and operate the service.
  • To show you analytics for your links.
  • To send transactional emails — magic link logins, billing receipts, account alerts.
  • To contact you about your account when necessary.
  • We don't sell your data. We don't use it for advertising.

4. Third-party services

We use a small number of third-party services to run Linkr. Each has its own privacy policy and receives only the data needed to do its job.

5. Chrome extension

  • The Linkr Chrome extension lets you shorten the URL of your current tab without opening the app. It requests the following permissions:
  • Tabs — to read the URL, title, and favicon of your active tab only. This is used to pre-fill the shortening input. No other tabs are accessed.
  • Storage — to remember the workspace you last selected, stored locally on your device.
  • When you shorten a link, the extension sends the URL and page title (as an optional note) to app.linkr.sh. No browsing history is collected. The extension does not inject scripts into pages and does not run in the background except to handle the sign-in flow.

6. Data retention

We keep your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed immediately. Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be retained beyond that period.

7. Your rights

  • Access and export your data from account settings.
  • Delete your account and all associated content at any time.
  • Request corrections to your account information.
  • For anything not available in-app, contact us and we'll help.

8. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. These are set by Better Auth and are strictly necessary for the service to work. We don't use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the site. The effective date at the top always reflects the latest version.
